Before Wachovia merged with Wells Fargo, the Wachovia short sales were averaging 30 days before getting approved. Wells Fargo short sales appear to be running 60 days now. It’s unfortunate that they couldn’t just adopt the policies that Wachovia had in place, because in my opinion, the Wachovia process ran like a well-oiled machine.

A good rule of thumb for a short sale is 60-90 days but stay tuned, banks are making to big changes for 2012 in the way short sales are processed.
