Tamara Inzunza - ABR, CRS, CSP, e-PRO
After graduating from James Madison University (GO DUKES!), I moved to the Northern Virginia area in 1995. I had earned my degree in Computer Information Systems and was recruited by Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as a programmer. I loved my job! I was fortunate enough to travel nationally, going to different client sites such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. As one of the software developers, testers, and trainers for the Immigration and Naturalization Service agency, I had the opportunity to design software from start to finish, implement, test, and train end users. I worked for EDS for five years excelling through their rigorous technical training programming ‘boot camp’, graduating, and continued with software design and development.

I then worked as a consultant, designing and maintaining databases for the Secret Service. While this position did not require travel, the work atmosphere was very intense and hands on.

As a consultant, I worked directly with agents developing small databases on demand for field projects, and larger internal databases for the on-site office. I enjoyed the people and the atmosphere at the Secret Service, and also how each day had different technical challenges.

After consulting, I decided to pursue my real estate career full-time…and never looked back! While there are days that I sincerely miss programming, it can never take the place of the satisfaction I feel when I help a family find their new home. I have always had a fascination with houses. Before I was licensed, I would often spend my spare time visiting model homes in the area and going to home-buying seminars. My education and previous experience as a consultant is the foundation for my success as a Realtor.

My business degree laid the groundwork for real estate. I have extensive knowledge and training in Economics, Accounting, Computer Technology, Marketing, Finance, and Management. Transitioning from corporate/government consulting to real estate consultant was very smooth. I have always been in a ‘people’ atmosphere, and my technical skills help me when I work with both buyers and sellers!

Over the years, I have helped many families in Northern Virginia buy and sell homes. Locally, I have helped renters become first-time homebuyers, and then move-up buyers. And I have helped sellers with their cross-country moves when the time came for them to leave the area. My past clients continuously reward me with referrals of friends, neighbors, family members, and other co-workers. That is the greatest compliment that I can receive.
